Krzysztof Czyżewski had a TV talk in Slava Life, which is a Ukrainian independent TV channel.

Yesterday, a workshop with second-year students from the Sejny high school took place in the Zustricz community center in Sejny. The workshop focused on the Changing Democracies program, in which Pogranicze has been participating since the beginning of last year.

On Monday, March 31, within the framework of the Changing Democracies program, a workshop meeting was held with teachers from Sejny, Suwałki and Augustow under the theme “Learning from the past, reflecting on the present”.

Since the beginning of December we have been hosting the exhibition “Is my democracy your democracy” in Sejny, around which lessons and meetings with young people are held.

The international conference "Disputed Territories and Memory: Pathways to Agonism" took place

on September 28-30, 2023. This conference was a final event of the five-year-long international

Disputed Territories and Memory (DisTerrMem) program, and was hosted by the Borderland

Foundation in partnership with the Institute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Kaunas.

The Borderland foundation is happy to have hosted Harutyun Marutyan. The event that was the summary of his stay concerned the genocide of the Armenian people.

Dilemma III — Memory, Heritage and the Other

The day began with a fundamental assumption: resistance may begin with refusal or protest, but it does not end there. What comes after rebellion? How do individuals and communities live with its consequences, with inherited history, unresolved violence and obligations towards others? The programme of the third dilemma was built around these questions.

The fifth day in Krasnogruda was a profound reflection on moral choice, memory and art. We were joined by exceptional scholars, writers and filmmakers. The central theme of the day was the shift that we called “From Freedom to Responsibility: Choice, Guilt and the Consequences of Action.”

On the fourth day of the Summer School, we delved into the second of Dilemma’s main dilemmas: In the Garden of Freedom — Independence, Belonging, Solidarity, Interdependence.

The Borderland is happy to announce a special meeting with Belarusian writers on August 17.

The meeting will take place in the Song on Porcelain cafe in the Krasnogruda manor. It will be hosted by Andri Khadanovich and will be translated into Polish.

The event is a part of the The Borderland/Belarus international programme.

In August the Borderland Foundation hosted Belarusian writers, Polina Stepanenko and Andrei Yanushkievich who took part in the Borderland/Belarus residency programme between 12 and 23 August 2022.

On August 18 Andri Khadanovich talked to two writers from Belarus, Polina Stepanenko and Andri Janushkievich. The talk took place in the Song on Porcelain Café in the Krasnogruda manor.

Beyond Borders Academy is a joint initiative of four organizations: The Kosciuszko Foundation, Borderland Foundation, Folkowisko Association, and the School for Leaders Foundation. Its goal is to prepare an active community of young people from Ukraine, Belarus and Poland to build relations and form new opportunities for cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.

The last two evenings of our trip to Serbia were spent at Cafe Europa. The idea was developed by Krzysztof Czyżewski and originated in this region, in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, as a gesture of resistance to war and a search for answers to the challenges of political transformation in Europe.

We began Saturday morning in Novi Sad, where a debate entitled “Culture of Solidarity” took place at the bulevar books, knjižara koja svira bookstore.

Our Serbian journey is coming to an end. Our last stop together was Sonta, a small town located on the Serbian-Croatian border.

Tomorrow, the Public Library in Vynohradiv will host Krzysztof Czyżewski.

At the International Center for Dialogue in Krasnogruda another edition of the international program Small Centers of the World is underway from April 14 to 18. The participants from various parts of Ukraine are taking part in numerous meetings and workshops whose purpose is to present the work of the Borderland.

"Small centers of the world are the conciliators of the future." These words by Krzysztof Czyżewski became the essence of one of the key meetings of the Summer School in Krasnogruda.
