The discussion announced as “Unfinished talks: on the Dialogue, Bridge and Europe” was chaired by Husein Oročević, who is a friend of the Borderland. Apart from Krzysztof Czyżewski, the audience could listen to Łukasz Galusek.
A day before his arrival in Mostar, Krzysztof Czyżewski wrote the following comment: “I have brought with me a mini-treatise on the invisible bridge. I have been writing it since the outbreak of the war in Yugoslavia. This is when I reached the other bank of the Neretva crossing the shaky footbridge. The footbridge had been fixed on two steel lines in the place of the old cupriya buit by Hajdurin the neymar which used to be oje of the most beautiful human constructions built over the precipice. I am planning to talk about my treatise in the Ivo Andric Book Club (...) On 9 November we celebrated the 30th anniversary of demolishing the Old Bridge. Łukasz Galusek and I will talk about this demolition and about other tragically demolished bridges as well as about the art of rebuilding them. The meeting will be chaired by Husein Oročević and interpreted by Tanja Miljetic-Oročević who are the Mostar citizens from whom I have learnt a lot.”
