Ukrainian Poetry in April

An evening of Ukrainian poetry, Warsaw

April was a month of Ukrainian poetry in Poland. The Borderland organized several meetings with Ukrainian poets and their translators in different cities.

The first in the series (April 9) took place in Szczecin. Then there were meetings in Gdańska, Kołobrzeg and Łódź. The audience could listen to the poems by Julia Stachivska, Olena Stepanenko, Natalia Belchenko, Irina Mularchuk read by the authors themselves. They could also talk to Małgorzata Sporek-Czyżewska about the idea of the series of books of Ukrainian poetry.

Warsaw hosted a special meeting which was devoted to the memory of Maxim Kryvtsov who joined the Ukrainian army after the full-scale invasion of Russia. He lost his life on January 7, 2024.
His book is one of the latest publications in the Facing the War series of the Borderland.
