The Borderland/Ukraine

The Borderland/Ukraine programme is our answer to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. We need to return to the first days after the outbreak of the war when the first Ukrainians that arrived in Sejny were Katja, Dasha and Ivanka. Dasha is now working for our Ukrainian club room naturally called Zustrich which means meeting.

We also need to underline one thing. Not only are we obliged to welcome everybody who has escaped the war, but also remember that the constitutive purpose why the war started was to wipe out the Ukrainian identity, Ukrainian culture and the sense of Ukrainian memory.

If the Borderland/Ukraine programme contributes to defend them, it will serve its purpose.
