Relying on the testimonies of witnesses to history collected as part of the project, we talk about the democratic transformations that took place in Europe, and we particularly focus our attention on the history and transformations of our region - Sejny. Krzysztof Tur and Jolanta Olsztyn told young people from Sejny schools today about their experiences of living under the communist system and how reality changed after 1989.
The exhibition is a summary of two years of work under the “Changing Democracies” project, which aims to explore how the living history of recent democratic transition in Europe can help us recognize and understand what we need today for democracy to fulfill its promises to all.
“Changing Democracies” is a two-year project funded by the EU under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program.
