The Music of the Place – Teoniki Rożynek

The meeting with Teoniki Rożynek

The Borderland is happy to have hosted Teoniki Rożynek who had a talk with the participants of the Music of the Place studio and gave a concert in the White Synagogue.

The music composed by Teoniki Rożynek is demanding. It is experimental, electronic and electroacoustic. The artist is particularly interested in sound design. Her main source of sound material is the surroundings and reality. She collects sound scrapes and junt objects on condition that they can help generate sounds. She works individually and with bands. Teoniki Rożynek plays the violin, electronics but also uses randomly found objects. She enjoys working with artists from different fields on film and theatre soundtracks and multimedia installations.

The most important is that Teoniki is a devoted cat-lover.
