The main focus of the interview is the importance of the idea of the bridge. The interview reminds the listeners of what the Borderland’s founder learnt in Mostar during the war: the bridge is not destoryed but killed. This treatment of the bridge as a living creature is one of the cornerstones of the work and practices of the Borderland.
Another important point that is made in the interview is the question how we can build bridges in our daily experience: how we can link different shores and establish new ties between people. According to Krzysztof Czyżewski, the bridge as an idea is something that enables us to overcome ourselves.
